His research focuses on the political economy of legacy and new media, cultural studies and community-based research. He published his first book, <a href=\"http:\/\/nyupress.org\/books\/9781479815975\/\"><em>Open TV: Innovation Beyond Hollywood and the Rise of Web Television<\/em><\/a> (NYU Press, 2018), and is currently writing his second book, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.madelab.org\/research\/reparative-media-book\"><em>Reparative Media: Cultivating Stories and Platforms to Heal our Culture<\/em><\/a>(MIT Press, forthcoming. Dr. Christian co-founded <a href=\"https:\/\/ajchristian.org\/projects\/#\/open-tv-beta\/\">OTV | Open Television<\/a>, a platform for intersectional television. OTV programs have received recognition from the Television Academy (Emmy Awards), Webby Awards, Streamy Awards, Gotham Awards, among others.
