She is also the author of\u00a0<em>Boricua Pop: Puerto Ricans and the Latinization of American Culture<\/em>\u00a0(CHOICE Award, 2004),\u00a0<em>The Latino Media Gap<\/em>\u00a0(2014), and\u00a0<em>Sovereign Acts: Contesting Colonialism in Native Nations and Latinx America<\/em>\u00a0(2017).\u00a0Her most recent films include\u00a0<em>Small City, Big Change<\/em>\u00a0(2013),\u00a0<em>War for Guam<\/em>\u00a0(2015) and\u00a0<em>Life Outside<\/em>\u00a0(2016).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Frances has received Ford, Truman, Rockefeller, and\u00a0Pew fellowships.
