With a background in the performing arts, Ann\u2019s work includes scenography and directing. She served as the Director of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nart.ee\/en\/residency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Narva Art Residency<\/a>&nbsp;(NART), a unique cultural platform facilitating residencies, art exhibitions, talks and educational workshops in Narva on the Estonian-Russian border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During her&nbsp;<strong>ArtsLink International&nbsp;Fellowship 2020<\/strong>&nbsp;(virtual and in-person residencies at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cecartslink.org\/participant\/nova-benway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Triangle Arts Association<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cecartslink.org\/participant\/john-spiak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grand Central Art Center<\/a>), Ann Mirjam\u2019s research departed from her own ancestry touching upon the notions of migration, embodiment and body as an archive. It incorporated collecting imagery&nbsp;from various sites (waterfronts of New York City and Jersey City and Port of Los Angeles) and meetings with artists, curators, and historians and other professionals in the field.
